Over the last 60 years while we have been based at Breakfast Creek Road, the city has grown to the point where Newstead is now an inner-city suburb.
A consequence of this growth, there has been a number of major impacts on our business. One such impact, has been the reduced number of funerals now held in our Newstead chapel.
Due to this change, we have made the tough decision to move out of the inner city. This was not an easy decision to make but it will allow us to undertake two major projects that will help us better serve the community we support.
While our new Geebung facility has been designed as a specialised funeral home where families can come to arrange a funeral and view their loved one, the facility which includes a new modern mortuary, will only be a temporary location while we complete two new projects.
Sometime in late 2023 or early 2024 our new Thornlands chapel, crematorium and memorial gardens will be open in the Redlands.
Once our Thornlands facility is completed and running smoothly, work will begin on our new Bridgeman Downs Head office. This will replace our old facility at Newstead.
As the chapel at Newstead is now closed, we have made alternative arrangements for those families wishing to have a service in the local area, including our Deception Bay chapel which is still open and operating as normal.
